Bee balm, black walnut, & creek water= Ozark Holler Story 

The smell of mint and bee balm brushing our shins as our bare feet follow the hard pack dirt path through the woods. Twined into the underbrush, the multiflora roses bloom against the incessant honeysuckle, and our hands are stained green from thin branches of black walnut saplings we've broken off or bent back from where they'd grown to reach across the path. We pick green gooseberries along the way, for no real reason other than they're there and so are we. Maybe we'll leave them as an offering for the tiny tree folk who make their homes in the hollows formed at the bases of the tall old oaks. Maybe we'll just find a glorious carpet of moss and rest there for a while, lying quietly in the dappled shade while the crickets chirr and the tree frogs breep.
